Reservations of most Student Unions & Activities large event spaces come with the Basic A/V Package Included in the Room Rate:
- a lectern with an attached gooseneck microphone
- the venue's built-in projector
- the venue's screen
- connections at the lectern for the ability to project video and play sound from a computer
Also included with the room rate for large event spaces is the option to have an A/V Tech Check In: techs that "check in" near event start time do not stay for the duration of the event. Generally, the tech will ensure that data projectors are hooked up properly, set basic room lighting, and ensure mic/sound levels are set appropriately.
Resources such as hourly A/V technician staffing, additional wired or wireless microphones, DI boxes, stage monitors and uplighting are available at additional cost. Access to the A/V tech booth requires hiring hourly A/V tech staffing.
Student Unions & Activities does not supply computers or tablets for events, but we do maintain a stock of adapters for projecting both Mac and Windows laptops.

Please note MN State Sales Tax will be charged on all A/V Equipment for Registered Student Groups and University Guest reservations at the current rate of 9.025% in Coffman Memorial Union and 8.375% in the Saint Paul Student Center.
Also note that A/V technicians can operate the venue's tech hardware or provide tech booth access, but do not drive presentations, cue music, or playback other media for clients.
All A/V personnel and equipment requests are needed at least 14 days before your event. If we can accommodate a late request, services may result in additional charges.
